Reliance continued to expand its presence by launching new laptops under Rs 20,000. But the Reliance JioBook is not an  ordinary Windows laptops, not even a Chromebook. Instead, the laptop runs a custom version of Android called JioOS.

JioBook : Full Specifications and features

JioBook is equipped with a 11.6-inch display and realizes a very compact body. The display has an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and supports a standard refresh rate of 60Hz, but Reliance has yet to provide information on screen brightness levels.

On top of the display is a 2MP webcam housed in the top bezel for video calling needs, and audio is handled by dual 1.0W speakers. The board also has a SIM card slot and peripherals include two USB ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI mini and Wi-Fi.

Under the hood is a mid-range ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, supported by an Adreno 610 GPU. Launched in 2019, the chip is based on the 11nm process and typically scores over 170,000 points on AnTuTu. 

The processor is supported by just 2GB of RAM, and it remains to be seen if this will affect performance, especially when many apps are installed.

The storage is currently 32 GB, expandable up to 128 GB. increase. The battery measures 5,000mAh, and Jio claims he can last up to eight hours on a single full charge. Heat is handled by passive cooling.

JIOBOOK : Variants And its Pricing

JioBook was first listed on the government's online marketplace a few weeks ago for Rs 19,500. That seemed reasonable enough, but the company has lowered the retail version's price by a few rupees to just 15,799 rupees.

This price is for the only variant with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
